Why didn’t my insurance pay for my bill?
We file all insurance claims according to strict medical billing guidelines.
There are several reasons why your claim may have been denied or not paid by
your insurance. We respectfully ask you to contact your insurance company to
check on the status of your claim and/or to ask them for details on payment
policies and denials.
Why did I receive two bills for the same test?
Western Kentucky Diagnostic Imaging may occasionally perform only the
professional interpretation of your medical imaging service, in cases where
you have had the actual imaging part of your exam at another facility,
hospital or physician’s office. Western Kentucky Diagnostic Imaging will bill
only for the professional interpretation of the exam. The hospital, facility
or physician’s office will also send a bill for the taking of the medical
imaging or a technical fee.
I gave my insurance to the facility where I had my service, why wasn’t
the insurance filed?
For professional interpretations we receive our information from the facility
where you were seen. Sometimes, all the information is not transferred to us.
We encourage our patients to follow up with their insurance company to make
sure that a claim has been filed on their behalf. If you find that your
insurance company does not have a claim within 30 days, please call our
office.
